Regional HR Business Partner

The HR Business Partner of the South Wales and the South West England region will act as a trusted advisor to departmental managers and leaders, providing strategic HR support and guidance to achieve business objectives.
We have a number of sites within the region including Neath, Bridgend, Chepstow, Bishop Sutton, Taunton and South Molton. The role will involve daily travel to one of our sites and requires you to distribute your time between the 6 sites fairly based on headcount and business need.
Joining a fantastic supportive team with fellow regional HRBP peers and colleagues in talent acquisition and learning development, you will be supported by a shared service centre for administration, system processing and advisor support. OCU Group has been through significant growth in this region with acquired businesses needing integration and support.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with departmental managers to understand their business objectives and develop HR strategies aligned with overall organisational goals.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on a wide range of HR matters, including talent management, performance management, employee relations, and organisational development.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive HR initiatives that support the company's strategic priorities.
- Act as a point of contact for employee relations issues, providing coaching and support to managers in resolving conflicts and addressing employee concerns.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances and recommend appropriate actions to ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees.
- Stay abreast of employment legislation and HR best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Support organisational change initiatives, such as restructuring, mergers, or acquisitions, by providing expertise in change management principles and practices.
- Partner with managers to effectively communicate changes to employees and mitigate resistance.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to maintain employee engagement during periods of change.
- Analyse HR data and metrics to identify trends, highlight areas for improvement, and support decision-making.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership on HR-related metrics and key performance indicators.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field; CIPD qualification preferred.
- Proven experience in a HR Business Partner or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, employment legislation, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS software.
