Civils Project Manager
OCU continues on a journey of substantial growth We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civls Project Manager to come and join us based in Scotland.
As a Civils Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing civil engineering projects from conception to completion. You will oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to effectively lead multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, outlining key milestones, tasks, and resource requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk assessments to inform project planning and decision-making.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to execute project activities according to the project plan.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and take proactive measures to address issues and risks.
- Ensure that projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project objectives and schedules.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for project execution.
- Manage subcontractor relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and performance expectations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, maintaining regular communication and providing project updates.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Implement quality management processes and procedures to ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality checks to monitor project performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Document project activities, deviations, and corrective actions to support project documentation and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify and address safety hazards and concerns.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. A master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., Chartered Engineer status) is desirable.
- Proven experience in civil engineering project management, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
