We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Civils Supervisor to oversee civil engineering projects within our organisation. The Civils Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and managing on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.

 Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise civil engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Manage and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of construction crews and subcontractors, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed to ensure work is performed to the highest standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance checks to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues, address design changes, and implement solutions in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and documentation of work performed, materials used, and resources expended.
• Monitor project costs and budgets, identifying variances and implementing cost control measures to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project team members, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and potential risks.
• Enforce site safety regulations and practices, conducting safety meetings, toolbox talks, and inspections to promote a culture of safety and minimize workplace incidents.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to support construction activities.
• Mentor and train junior staff members, providing guidance on best practices, technical skills, and safety protocols to support their professional development.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working in a supervisory role on civil engineering projects, preferably within the construction industry.
• Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and building codes.
• Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients, subcontractors, and project team members.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Commitment to upholding high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• Relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., CSCS, SMSTS)
