OCU Group, a rapidly expanding force in the UK utilities sector, is looking for a talented and proactive Internal Auditor to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the effectiveness of our management systems, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing:
As an Internal Auditor, you will play a vital role in evaluating and improving our internal controls and compliance processes. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, executing, and reporting on internal audits across various aspects of the business, with a focus on compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of our management systems.
- Following up on audit findings and recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Working collaboratively with operational teams to promote a strong understanding of compliance requirements.
- Assisting with the preparation for and coordination of external audits.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date audit records.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of compliance-related training.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking an individual with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential risks. Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience in conducting internal audits.
- A strong understanding of compliance frameworks and principles.
- While not essential, a qualification in Internal Auditing (e.g., CQI / IRCA) or a strong understanding of ISO 9001 principles would be highly advantageous.
- A background or demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety principles and practices would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
