Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in the Rail E&P (Electrification and Plant) Industry . This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of construction site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans covering timelines, resources, and budgets to guide the successful delivery of construction activities.
- Site Oversight: Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring progress aligns with project schedules and meets established quality benchmarks.
- Health & Safety Management: Enforce health and safety protocols on-site, maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with current legislation and industry standards.
- Resource Coordination: Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams to secure the necessary materials and resources in a timely manner.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control project expenditure, ensuring financial targets are met and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work is conducted to a high standard by conducting regular inspections and compliance checks against project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Client Relations: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or queries promptly.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve any challenges or delays, implementing practical solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Team Leadership: Provide direction, support, and mentoring to site staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of site activities, including daily logs, variations, and stakeholder communications.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Significant experience in railway E&P construction management ideally in HV/LV distribution, with a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects of varying scales and complexities..
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of electrical (HV/LV) construction methods, materials, and techniques, as well as familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Health & Safety: Relevant certifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead site teams, make sound decisions, and drive performance to meet project goals.
- Organisational Skills: Strong planning and multitasking capabilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Problem Solving: Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, essential for overcoming challenges in a dynamic construction environment.
- Education: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- IT Proficiency: Competency in project management tools and Microsoft Office, with knowledge of BIM and other construction software considered an advantage.
