Security Systems Engineer
We’re seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Security Systems Engineer to oversee the daily management, reporting, and maintenance of our access control and CCTV systems across multiple sites.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for carrying out regular system checks, producing reports, keeping firmware and passwords up to date, and supporting new installation projects. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our security infrastructure remains reliable, secure, and compliant with company standards, while providing clear documentation and communication to stakeholders.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Run weekly reports across all sites and liaise with site managers/operators.
- Provide progress reports on site CCTV and access control.
- Maintain current security logs.
- Support new installations, ensuring systems are set up correctly.
- Perform weekly remote maintenance checks to ensure all cameras are recording, storing footage, and displaying the correct information.
- Keep all NVRs and cameras updated with the latest firmware.
- Maintain and update the keyholder list.
- Verify tripwires and camera settings are correct and consistent across systems.
- Keep an up-to-date inventory of all CCTV equipment and locations (e.g., power bars, UPS, switches, audio horns, PTZs, poles, cameras).
- Ensure all device passwords are secure, current, and stored safely.
- Perform monthly remote NVR maintenance reboots, raising issues where needed.
- Track and document site mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
- Processing security supplier purchase orders.
- Liaise with the Groups external security suppliers.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Paxton access control systems and CCTV platforms (including NVRs, cameras, and networking).
- Strong technical skills in hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Highly organised with excellent reporting and documentation abilities.
- Good knowledge of networking systems (switches, UPS, power management).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Strong sense of confidentiality and responsibility when handling secure data.
- Previous experience in facilities, IT, or security systems administration is preferred.
