Power Training Manager
Overview
The Power Training Manager is responsible for developing and delivering training programmes that equip staff with the necessary electrical knowledge and skills, ensuring compliance with safety legislation, industry standards, and best practices. The role involves assessing training needs, maintaining accurate training records, evaluating programme effectiveness, and keeping training content aligned with the latest regulations and technological advancements. This position requires strong technical expertise in electrical systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage training resources and staff effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Needs Assessment: Identify training needs by analysing skill gaps, consulting with employees and managers, and reviewing performance data.
- Training Delivery: Facilitate training through lectures, group discussions, simulations, videos, and hands-on practical sessions.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure training programmes meet Health & Safety legislation, industry standards (e.g., CDM), and company safety policies.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of training activities, employee attendance, assessment results, and retraining requirements.
- Programme Evaluation: Collect feedback, evaluate training effectiveness, and recommend improvements or new methods to enhance skill acquisition.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise on electrical systems, equipment, and safe working practices to trainees and training staff.
- Resource Management: Coordinate and maintain training resources, materials, and equipment to support effective programme delivery.
- Liaison: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external training providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and alignment with organisational training strategies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical background and practical experience in electrical systems.
- Training Skills: Experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programmes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Organisational Skills: Strong planning, organisation, and IT literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and electrical safe working practices.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt training methods to evolving technologies and to suit diverse audiences.
