Civils Supervisor
- Role Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Civils Supervisor, working on projects in Eggborough, to oversee a range of civil engineering activities within our organisation. The Civils Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and managing on-site construction operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of civil engineering principles.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise civil engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring safe, timely, and on-budget delivery.
- Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Oversee daily activities of construction crews and subcontractors, providing guidance and support.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to monitor progress and ensure compliance.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and address design changes.
- Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs and progress reports.
- Monitor project costs and budgets, identifying variances and implementing cost-control measures.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, providing updates on progress and risks.
- Enforce site safety regulations and conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and inspections.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Mentor and train junior staff in best practices, technical skills, and safety protocols
Skills and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven supervisory experience on civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and building regulations.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple projects.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused approach.
- High commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
- Relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., CSCS, SSSTS, First Aid) desirable
