M & E Service Technician (Water)
Role Purpose
The M&E Service Technician will support the delivery of wastewater treatment projects across the UK. The role requires a qualified and experienced engineer with strong mechanical and electrical capability, who is comfortable working hands-on as well as supervising site teams. Regular travel and staying away from home will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Supervision
Support the delivery of wastewater projects across the UK.
Undertake and supervise mechanical and electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance works.
Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and contract labour.
Ensure works are completed safely, to programme and in line with quality standards.
Prepare and implement RAMS and deliver toolbox talks.
Manage site activities in accordance with NEC contract requirements.
Technical & Hands-On Duties
Attend client sites to install, maintain and commission wastewater treatment equipment.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
Identify site requirements and assist with hire orders and equipment mobilisation from our yard in Manchester.
Support procurement, estimating and stock management activities.
Assist with outline electrical design and technical scope development.
Planning & Reporting
Plan and programme site works to meet agreed milestones.
Liaise with clients regarding delivery dates and site progress.
Maintain accurate site records, dayworks and photographic evidence.
Contribute to project reports, value engineering and cost control initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Qualified in a Mechanical or Electrical engineering discipline (NVQ/BTEC or equivalent).
Proven experience within the UK wastewater industry.
Competent in both mechanical and electrical installation and fault finding.
Hands-on approach with the ability to supervise and lead site teams.
Experience working with contractors in a Design & Build environment.
Good understanding of UK water industry standards and specifications.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Essential Requirements
18th Edition qualification.
SMSTS / SSSTS / CSCS
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home as required.
