Reinstatement Teams
Due to rapid growth within the business, we are currently recruiting for a experienced Reinstatement Teams to join us at OCU Group!
As a Reinstater, you will be responsible for restoring surfaces and landscapes following utility infrastructure installations, repairs, or maintenance activities. Your role involves ensuring that excavation sites are safely and effectively reinstated to their original condition or as per regulatory requirements. You will work closely with utility companies, contractors, and local authorities to minimise disruption and maintain the integrity of public roads, footpaths, and green spaces.
Duties and Responsibilities
Site Assessment:
· Conduct site inspections to assess the condition of excavation sites and surrounding areas, identifying reinstatement requirements and any potential hazards or obstacles.
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and utility representatives to understand reinstatement specifications, timelines, and compliance requirements.
Reinstatement Works:
· Perform reinstatement works, including backfilling excavations, compacting soil, laying new surfaces (e.g., asphalt, concrete, paving), and restoring landscaping features (e.g., turf, vegetation).
· Ensure that reinstatement activities are carried out in accordance with industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and health and safety regulations.
Surface Repair and Maintenance:
· Repair and maintain surfaces affected by utility works, such as roads, footpaths, driveways, and public spaces, to restore functionality, aesthetics, and safety.
· Use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials to achieve high-quality reinstatement results and minimize the risk of future damage or deterioration.
Quality Assurance:
· Conduct quality inspections of reinstatement works to verify compliance with specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
· Rectify any defects, deficiencies, or non-compliant reinstatements promptly to ensure the integrity and longevity of restored surfaces and landscapes.
Traffic Management:
· Implement traffic management measures to ensure the safety of road users, pedestrians, and workers during reinstatement activities, in compliance with traffic regulations and permit requirements.
· Coordinate with traffic management teams, local authorities, and stakeholders to minimize disruption and maintain traffic flow in affected areas.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Maintain accurate records of reinstatement activities, including work orders, site assessments, material usage, and compliance documentation.
· Generate reports, completion certificates, and as-built drawings to document reinstatement works and provide relevant information to project stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
1. Proven experience in reinstatement works, surface repair, or landscaping within the utilities, construction, or civil engineering sector.
2. Knowledge of reinstatement techniques, materials, and equipment used in roadworks, footpath repairs, and landscaping projects.
3. Understanding of health and safety regulations, traffic management requirements, and utility reinstatement standards (e.g., NRSWA) applicable to reinstatement works.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders, and adapt to changing work environments and priorities.
5. Physical fitness and manual dexterity to perform manual labour and operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
6. Valid driving license and relevant certifications (e.g., NRSWA Operative, CSCS card) are advantageous.
7. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
8. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to different work sites as required.
