Project Manager
Throughout 2025, OCU Group has been experiencing a sustained period of growth and expansion.
The Project manager plays a crucial role in delivering Utilities project in a safe manner by providing expert advice, guidance, and support on health and safety matters. This role involves working closely with management, employees, client , and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with utility standards. we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our team based in the Old Oak Common area of London delivering a district heating ECI & Build package.
Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing tenders for clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business
Developing and presenting project proposals through ECI
Meeting with clients to find out their requirements
Producing plans and estimating budgets and timescales
Discussing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of business contracts
Agreeing budgets and timescales with the clients
Managing construction schedules and budgets
Dealing with any unexpected costs
Dealing with Local Authorities for permitting
Attending site meetings to monitor progress
Acting as the main point of contact for clients, site and project managers
Working with third parties to ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities
Making sure construction projects meet agreed technical standards
Liaising with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, legal teams and the client’s own representatives
Overseeing final accounts & Handover at the end of a project
Working on-site and in an office
Skills and Experience
Engineering Degree or HND qualified in Construction or Project Management.
Working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 / FIDIC contracts desirable.
An understanding of the construction industry
An understanding of legal documentation
Maths and IT knowledge
Strong leadership skills
Business management skills
The ability to use your initiative
Good verbal communication skills.
Utilities & deep excavation experience
Ideally have delivered work on Water or Gas networks if they don’t have district heating experience
Proficiency in project management software and tools
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Knowledge of Utilities industry standards, regulations, and best practices in the UK.Drivers Licence Essential
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
