Quantity Surveyor
OCU Group has a new opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Neath, South Wales.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost and contractual issues on projects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, financial acumen, and excellent communication skills.
We work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, achieving our goals and succeeding with the work we do and the way we grow.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and other relevant information.
Develop detailed project budgets, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
Monitor project costs throughout the process and identify areas where costs can be optimised.
Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS/CICES) or working towards chartered status is preferred.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
