Civils Supervisor
OCU is seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor to oversee and deliver a range of civil engineering projects across our growing portfolio.
In this role, you will take responsibility for ensuring on-site activities run safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards — playing a key part in supporting the UK’s journey to a more sustainable energy future.
This is a Nationwide role requiring regular travel to offices and sites.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supervising and coordinating civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
Managing resources including labour, equipment, and materials to ensure work is delivered on time and within budget.
Leading construction teams and subcontractors, providing clear direction and support.
Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Carrying out regular site inspections, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance at all times.
Working closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
Maintaining accurate project records, including daily logs, progress updates, and cost tracking.
Monitoring budgets and implementing cost‑control measures where needed.
Communicating progress, risks, and milestones to clients and internal teams.
Promoting and enforcing site safety through toolbox talks, briefings, and inspections.
Supporting procurement and logistics to ensure timely material delivery.
Mentoring junior team members and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Proven experience supervising civil engineering or construction projects.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and regulatory standards.
Confident leader with excellent communication and team‑management skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Familiarity with construction software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or Primavera.
Strong organisational and multitasking capabilities.
Proactive problem-solver with a commitment to safe, high‑quality delivery.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site.
CSCS / SMSTS certifications advantageous but not essential.
